I was head to Pappasito's in Austin, coming from I-35N so I had to exit and U-turn under the US290 overpass. It wasn't raining, but misting, so everything was wet. I was gonna heel-and-toe into 2nd for the trip around the long U-turn, but my foot slid past the gas pedal. So, I figured no biggie...just make it a normal downshift and roll into the turn. Wrong. At 40+mph on the slick road, the engine brought me down a little, then itgrabbed the rear wheels and I promptly began to slide toward the 6-inch concrete lip. I slammed in the clutch and pumped the brake and regained traction just as I had to enter the turn...but goddamn did I have some serious pucker going on!
